Home » Columbian cannabis flower reaches international market

Allied Corp. has completed its second shipment of commercial dried cannabis from Colombia to the international market.

After Colombia enacted new legislation allowing for the legal export of dried cannabis produced in Colombia in April 2022, Allied submitted several applications for export approvals.

The company’s first export approval, and first export shipped, came in June 2022, with Allied having shipped its second commercial shipment in July. The export has been shipped to Switzerland, the US and Australia.

CEO and Chairman of the Allied board, Calum Hughes, commented: “Following the first-ever shipment of dried cannabis from Colombia to an international market, we have done it again. We are the first company ever to ship a commercial shipment of dried cannabis to an international market – but now we are duplicating our shipments.

“This accomplishment speaks to the quality of our team, and most importantly our product. Two years of genotyping and phenotyping has led us to our current genetics that are proving to be superior in terms of cannabinoid profiles, as well as being pest and mould resistant.”

The supply contract for the second shipment is for 1000kgs and the first quantity shipped on July 14, 2022 was 272kg. This shipment is sent to Zurich, Switzerland and then onto the medical market in Australia.

In addition to the two shipments, Allied has submitted to the controlled substance office in Colombia for export approvals for many additional shipments.

Allied currently has 5800 THC plants in the ground and another 15,000 clones of THC plants created for multiple batches to fulfill its 2022 quota, and its THC flower harvest will begin in August, 2022 and will be available for sale in September 2022.

Hughes added: “Bringing high-quality flower grown in Colombia to an international market is no longer a story – this is our reality. All of the links of the supply chain have clicked together to achieve this important milestone for the company.

“From decades of production expertise, manufacturing and supply chain quality assurance, regulatory expertise and logistics coordination – the team has performed! We have always followed through on what we said we were going to – this is yet another validation of this. We can now boldly claim that we are not only the first to pull it off, but we have been able to duplicate the orders – Colombian-grown cannabis for the international marketplace.

“Again, watch out for what we have in store for THC flower. The 15,000 plants are looking great.”
